2. What data we collect

Via the booking and contact form on this website, we collect:

• Name
• Email address
• Phone number (on a booking request, optional)
• Desired arrival and departure dates and number of guests (on a booking request)
• The content of your message

This site also uses a few cookies and an external map service — see "Cookies" and "Sharing with third parties" below for the full picture.

3. Why we collect this data

We use this data solely to respond to your request, process a booking, and communicate about your stay. We don't use your data for marketing purposes and don't share it with third parties for commercial purposes.

4. Legal basis

Processing is based on the performance of (preparing) a contract with you, or on our legitimate interest in responding to questions about Villa Solmira.

5. How long we keep your data

Requests that don't lead to a booking are kept for a maximum of [X months]. Data from confirmed bookings is kept for as long as legally required for our accounting (usually several years). [Exact retention periods to be confirmed.]

6. Sharing with third parties

The booking and contact form are processed via Netlify Forms, the hosting provider of this website (Netlify, Inc., US/EU). Netlify processes the submitted data on our behalf, solely to pass it on to us. We don't share your data with any other third parties, except where legally required.

To display the availability calendar, the site may use a shared Google Calendar. This process doesn't involve any personal data of guests — only which periods are booked.

On the contact page you can optionally load a map showing the location of Villa Solmira (Google Maps, Google Ireland Limited). This map only loads after you give explicit consent via the cookie banner (the "marketing" category) — see "Cookies" below. Once the map is loaded, Google may set its own cookies and process technical data under Google's privacy policy.

The homepage shows the current temperature, fetched from Open-Meteo. This service sets no cookies and only receives Villa Solmira's fixed coordinates — no personal data about visitors — so it doesn't require consent.

7. Cookies

This website uses a cookie banner where you give consent per category. You can adjust your preferences at any time via the cookie settings in the site footer.

• Strictly necessary — always active, no consent required. This includes your cookie preference itself and a cookie that remembers which language version you chose, so you don't have to pick it again every time.
• Analytics — we currently don't use any analytics cookies, even though you can already toggle this category in the settings. Should that change in future, the preference you set here will always be respected.
• Marketing — only the Google Maps embed on the contact page falls under this category. Without your consent in this category, that map isn't loaded and Google doesn't set any cookies.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• access your data;
• have incorrect data corrected;
• have your data deleted;
• restrict the processing of your data;
• object to the processing;
• receive your data in a portable format.
